Forbury Gardens Day Nursery is a privately run, high quality, professional childcare service, catering in the main for working parents in the Reading and surrounding areas. We care for children from 3 months to 5 years of age.
We are open Monday – Friday throughout the year (except public, bank holidays and between Christmas Day and New Year). We offer full time and part time places. Our opening hours are 8am – 6pm.
The nursery enjoys the benefits of being a large Nursery. We have a good reputation based on the care that we give to each individual child. Please email with any questions that you may have or call us on 01189 588116 to arrange a visit to the Nursery.
Our ethos is to create an environment where children are engaged, motivated, independent thinkers, who have a positive attitude to learning, supported by secure and respectful relationships. We only have one chance to get it right for our children and what we do now, stays with them for the rest of their lives.
Our best resource is our dedicated and passionate practitioners, we devote time to training our apprentices to becoming fully qualified Nursery Nurses, our supportive managers develop individual training plans for our employees for their continued professional development throughout their training and beyond.
Our senior Nursery Nurses and room leaders are qualified Nursery Nurses with a certificate in First Aid and either a National Nursery Examination Board Certificate (NNEB), B-Tec National Diploma, NVQ level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Educator (EYE) or DCE Level 3 in Childcare and Education. They will usually have received two years professional training with practical experience in a day nursery, primary school, the home, hospital and special care centres.
We aim for our practitioners to continue to progress within in our nursery and we support them in their career development. With an enthusiastic and hard working team we aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.
